Hello there, my name is Sarah! I am a traditional and digital artist from Northern Indiana who hopes to spread joy and kindness through my artwork.
During the summer you can find me at many local craft fairs, farmers markets, community events, and a few holiday markets in the colder months. In addition to digital art and watercolor painting, I enjoy photography and spending time outdoors.
When I was younger, I could always be found doodling something (often on my homework). I have always enjoyed creating art and practicing new mediums, having used everything from pencils to oil paints to charcoal as I tried to capture the world around me.
My long-time favorite medium has been watercolors; there is something special about a landscape created with watercolor that can make you look at things in a new way. In 2024 I was determined to finally become comfortable using markers to create art, and spent many days drawing anything from doodles to decorate my planner, to wildlife, to mini nature scenes in my sketchbook. I am so excited with the progress I have been making and look forward to continuing to make more.
Digital Art:
In 2018 I got a Wacom tablet and started being truly interested in digital art for the first time; I would use GIMP to create wallpapers for my computer, then eventually started using Adobe Capture and Photoshop to create doodles, scan them on my phone, then refine and color them to make simple stickers.
In May of 2019, I started my Instagram account and began posting art as rarely as every 3 or 4 weeks; by September I had learned about Adobe Fresco and would use it to create more detailed digital art with my Dell XPS 15 - I especially enjoyed the watercolor textures on Fresco and would use them to create my first digital pet portraits.
Later, in 2021, I moved to iPad Pro (with an Apple Pencil) so I could use the Procreate app to draw anywhere instead of just at a desk; this is now my go-to method of creating digital art, as the user experience is so much more comfortable for me than drawing on a laptop.
In the last three years, I have been able to help a few local businesses with packaging and label design, as well as web banners, YouTube cover artwork, and more. I don't usually share much about those projects to keep client confidentiality, but you may be able to see some bits and pieces on my Instagram stories or Behance.
I also offer custom social media highlight covers and other graphics for small businesses, artists, bloggers, and more - feel free to contact me for more information if you would like to learn more.
